we always want the things we can never have

what we want most in life,
the things, but more importantly,
the people,
are the things we'll never be close enough to,
and the things we'll never have a chance to get

----------

this is kind of symbolic of a lot of the stuff that's going on in my life right now. this picture is meant to show that the things that intrigue us most in life, and the things (and people) we want to be closer to, are the things we'll never be able to get.

Very powerful message here. I love the composition and the positioning. All very well thought out and executed. I agree with the message whole heartedly. There are quite a lot of things in life that we can only get so close to, but never full obtain or comprehend. It's quite disheartening. Sadly enough, there is always hope to acquire the complexity of life, but never the adaquate time. Simply superb. Nicely done.

great visual piece, and the theme also runs quite strong...the candle serves as a light source/thematic emphasis...therefore the visual elements and theme of the piece intermingle, and that is a very good thing..i like how your face is faded and somewhat distant, I would like to see it a little bit darker and faded, but this is just fine. I love the candle metaphor, it looks good an is attractive, but you cant get to close to it for you will get burned...really good stuff bro.

It's easy to explain simple things so they seem to be complex...to explain complex things so they seem easy - that's the real challenge!

this seems to be a peice with much more potensal, with alittle of playing around texturizing this could make creepy cool ass wallpaper.. then again I personaly feel most your photo work can be, but on it's own it's most wonderful to look at, maybe even worthy of being a deviant print, I think eople would buy it

Wow, nice. The lighting really makes this picture. The guy looks almost exactly like me, I'm terrified, but it's a great photo.

Simple but very effective. It's the lighting that really makes this work.

I also like the explanation in the description... nice to know the inspiration and meaning behind things.

You never cease to amaze me... your symbolic perception of the world coincides with mine... like a candle in the wind all the magic that lies within we cannot reach for the darkness that dwells pushes us to the floor just waiting for the light to shine so we can rise to face another day... love is the light... i cant seem to touch... firefies in the night light the way through this world
:iconcontra:
don't get too close to that flame buddy...

i know exactly how you feel with the "waning things you can;t have" and it seems like when everything is perfect and you just wish time would stop... its time to go. Upset
:iconkalean:
Nice work... the shadows don't seem to make it feel dark like they should, but it feels foreboding for some reason anyways. Despite that, it's got some nice symbology (is that still a word?) and whatnot. Keep with the photo magic.
